Kristin Anderson was born and raised in Nevada. In 1985, she started her college education at the University of Nevada in Las Vegas on a full academic scholarship. She began college with the intent to study art, but in the fall of her second year she declared her major as architecture. In 1987, Kristin transferred to the University of Idaho, Moscow because of their accredited Architecture program.

While at the University of Idaho, Kristin began to pursue another interest– set design. She began to take classes in set design and spent her summers working for the Idaho Repertory Theater as a carpenter and technician. She graduated in May of 1991 with a degree in Architecture and a minor in Theater. After graduation, she moved to Seattle, where she worked for Gary Ard Architects and Castlewood Homes.

In October 1992, Kristin moved to Ketchum, Idaho. She spent her first six years there working for Darryl McMillen Architects. While working there, she gained experience with “snow country” design and learned to respect the high level of detail and personal involvement this type of design requires. Kristin was the Project Architect for several custom homes, remodels, and The Ranch Condominium Refurbishment project. As Project Architect, she prepared all of the construction documents and conducted all of the construction administration for these projects.

In 1998, Kristin received her license to practice Architecture in the State of Idaho. In the spring of 2000, she joined her husband, Pete Anderson to form their firm, Anderson Architecture, PA. Anderson Architecture has now completed over twenty-five projects including private residences, speculative residences, residential remodels, commercial tenant improvements, and commercial office space.

An active member of the American Institute of Architecture, Kristin has attended their professional development tours and seminars in San Francisco, Chicago and Philadelphia. She is served two terms on the City of Hailey Planning and Zoning Commission, one of the terms as chairperson. Kristin also sits on the Board of the Council Circle Foundation.

Kristin enjoys working closely with the clients and contractors involved in her projects and meeting their needs with efficiency and beautiful design.
